Christmas Tree Types and Prices

Did you Know?

A pick up  truck is not necessary to take home your Mill Hollow Christmas Tree.  Any car is sufficient.  We can place in most car trunks a six foot or smaller Christmas tree .  If your tree is larger or the car trunk is filled with odds and ends, we can place and tie any tree up to 10 feet tall on top of your car roof.  We do ask that you inspect and confirm that your Christmas tree is secured.  Please do not drive fast with any tree on the way home but enjoy the beautiful East Texas Scenery at a slow speed.

Christmas Tree Prices

All trees available for sale are individually priced based on overall  "perfectness" with a maximum price of $78.95.  ("Perfectness" is based on Marge's idea of what would make a beautiful tree in our house).  Cleaning at $3.00, baling/packaging at $3.00 and sales tax are extra.

We do not price Christmas trees by height.  For this reason, we can not give you a price of a specific size tree over the telephone.

A tree price is shown by a colored ribbon corresponding to a price on a price sheet.  We do not put this price sheet on the internet.  You must have this price sheet to find the price of the tree.  This price sheet along with a saw will be given to at the check in area by the shaking and packaging area.  A limited number of children trees or a "tree that only a child would appreciate" are available and also have corresponding ribbon colors on this price sheet.

Trees with out pricing ribbons are not for sale and will be the following years premium Christmas trees.  If you cut one, the price will be nine dollars per foot with a maximum price of $78.95.   The price will be determined at the shaking/packaging area.

After you cut a tree, it is yours.  We do not negotiate any price changes.   We also only accept cash or checks.

Mechanical tree cleaning at $3.00 per tree  and packaging per tree at $3.00 are available .

Virginia Pine Christmas Tree

Virginia Pine Christmas Tree

Branch Close-up

Description-

Virginia pine is a medium needle pine tree with the fragrance one expects from a Christmas tree.  In most trees, you can not see the trunk because of the density of the needles.  All trees have been mechanically sheared to provide the shape and density desired by most of our customers.  The branches of this tree can handle light to heavy weight ornaments.

The Virginia Pine trees marked for sale include many of the much demanded over 10 feet and up to 12 feet in height.  Because of size and weight, no tree over 12 feet can be cleaned or packaged.

If this is the year for a big beautiful Christmas tree, do check out "hints".

Leyland Cypress Christmas Tree

Leyland Cypress Christmas Tree

Branch Close-up

Description-

Leyland cypress is a very beautiful and delicate looking tree.  The branches of this tree can handle medium and light weight decorations with no problems.   This tree has no fragrance and may be suitable for your family if they are allergic to pine trees.

With climate change adversely affecting our Leyland cypress Christmas trees, we do not have the supply of past years of the quality we required.

Arizona Cypress

Christmas Tree

(Blue Ice)

Description-

The Arizona cypress has a pleasant unique smell and holds up quite well with the color being a silver blue.  This tree has a unique fragrance which is close to the rosemary herb.

Very few Arizona cypress are marked for sale in 2019 .  Recent unusual wet years probably related to the changing climate have caused many of these trees to not meet our quality.

Japanese Cedar

Christmas Tree

Description-

The Japanese Cedar has been successfully test grown and thrives in the Texas heat and humidity.  It is a light density Christmas tree.  In 2009, the first Japanese cedar was cut and shown to be an excellent Christmas tree.  It held up exceptionally well and provided no evidence of "cedar fever" typical of Texas cedar trees.

We have found however that this Christmas tree does not like droughts (It will die) or very cold weather (Tips will brown).  We will not be planting any more of these trees.

Only 1 Japanese Cedar tree is left and will be kept as a reminder to us of one of our trials which was not successful.
